Shaped by Light brings together the work of Southern California artists Patrick DeAngelis, Heather Zusman, and Austin Fields, each exploring the ways in which light reveals, defines, and transforms. DeAngelis distills the landscape to its most essential elements, where subtle tonal shifts and a singular horizon line evoke vast, atmospheric space. Fields approaches light through translucency and reflection, shaping molten glass into fluid, organic forms that capture and refract their surroundings. Zusman’s sculptural works, composed of layered wood veneers, bend and swell with precision, their curved surfaces interacting with light to cast quiet, dimensional shadows.
