Sandrine Jacobson is an Australian-born artist based in Southern California whose work explores the emotional and psychological landscapes that shape the human experience. Working exclusively in oil on canvas, she creates atmospheric abstract paintings that invite contemplation, reflection, and personal interpretation.
Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Sandrine studied Fine Art Photography at the Victorian College of the Arts, graduating in 1996. Although formally trained in photography, her artistic practice has evolved over more than two decades into a deeply personal exploration of abstraction, materiality, and emotion through painting.
Drawing inspiration from both the complexities of human experience and the natural world, Sandrine's work seeks to bridge the tangible and the intangible. Through layered oil painting techniques, she creates compositions that convey depth, vulnerability, memory, and transformation. Her paintings are less concerned with depicting a place than evoking an internal landscape, offering viewers space to connect with their own emotions and experiences.
Over the course of her career, Sandrine has remained committed to refining her artistic voice through a sustained and dedicated studio practice. Her work continues to evolve through an ongoing investigation of texture, tone, and atmosphere, resulting in paintings that are both intimate and expansive.
Now based in California, Sandrine's work is held in private collections internationally and has been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions across the United States.
