Sharon Paster is a Sausalito-based contemporary painter renowned for her semi-abstract depictions of the Marin landscape, bay, beaches, and their inhabitants. Utilizing oil pigment sticks almost exclusively, she applies color directly onto the canvas, allowing her to simultaneously draw and paint, thereby capturing the dynamic energy between objects. Paster's work delves into the interplay of solid and ephemeral elements, exploring transitions and the constant pulse of life.
